Complex expressions
How far do the expressions without a simple name get?
Surprise, nerves and drowsiness lack the clear signal that a smile or a tear provides, and they reproduce accordingly.
How well each one reads varies by tag. What each actually produced is written below.
Every cut below shares one seed, one base prompt and one sampler setting, and differs only by the tag marked in amber.
What each cut shows
surprised face- The mouth parts and the eyes widen — visible once you know, but weak for surprise.
Nervous face- A sweat drop, flushed cheeks, lifted inner brows and an averted gaze all appear — the most visible markers of the four.
Serious face- The eyes settle and the mouth closes — the most dependable of the four.
Sleepy face- Lids drop and a propped chin appears. Clear.

Takeaway
The clearest tag here was Nervous, which drew its own sweat drop, blush and averted gaze. Serious and Sleepy, by contrast, came out with nearly the same eyes; what separated them was the hand propping the head, not the face. surprised only opened the eyes and mouth a little.
How far this result reaches
The category holds 220 tags, most of them in this subtle register. We did not test them all.
Measured on a single Stable Diffusion family checkpoint. The same tags can behave differently on NovelAI, Midjourney or another checkpoint. This is a reference point, not a verdict.
