How much age reaches the face
Can an age tag make an older character?
This is the question people actually hit when they want an older character, and on this checkpoint the answer is mostly no.
The first run covered the twenties through the fifties in eight cuts. Seven were indistinguishable, so it was cut to a single attempt at a ladder — eight identical pictures are not a comparison.
The under-age tags were not rendered. The category holds child, toddler and teenager, and they fall outside what this site illustrates.
Every cut below shares one seed, one base prompt and one sampler setting, and differs only by the tag marked in amber.
What each cut shows
woman in her 20s- The baseline — this is where the checkpoint's default face already sits.
woman in her 40s- Indistinguishable from the twenties; two decades produced nothing.
middle-aged woman- Also near-identical — the descriptive form fared no better than the numeric one.
old woman- The only one that moves: lines appear at the eyes and mouth and the skin tone shifts.

Takeaway
Middle age is not available here. To show age, name the drawable signals — lines, grey hair, posture — rather than the age itself.
How far this result reaches
This is an anime checkpoint's disposition. The same tags work far better on photoreal models.
Measured on a single Stable Diffusion family checkpoint. The same tags can behave differently on NovelAI, Midjourney or another checkpoint. This is a reference point, not a verdict.
