About this Category

Negative prompt tags describe what you do NOT want in the image: low_quality, blurry, bad_anatomy, extra_fingers, deformed_hands, watermark, text, jpeg_artifacts, out_of_frame. They go in a separate negative prompt field (not the positive prompt) in most image generators. A strong negative prompt is often the single biggest improvement a beginner can make to their output quality — empty negative prompts leave the door open for anatomical errors, distorted hands, overlayed watermarks, and text artifacts that the model picks up from its training data. A minimum viable negative set is low_quality, blurry, bad_anatomy, extra_fingers, watermark, text. Model-specific additions are worth knowing: SDXL responds well to worst_quality, low_resolution, deformed_body; Pony responds to score_3, score_2, score_1 (low-score tokens); NovelAI responds to its own lowres and bad_quality family.

Always use a negative prompt. Start with the minimum viable set (low_quality, blurry, bad_anatomy, extra_fingers, watermark, text) and add model-specific boosters. Keep negatives under 15 tags — longer negatives begin to suppress desirable traits.
