seiza
Seiza
What this cut shows
The Japanese kneeling posture, insteps flat, back straight.
A closer look
She kneels with the back held upright and both hands resting on closed thighs. Seen straight on, the shins and feet are hidden entirely behind the body, so the defining part of seiza, sitting back on feet laid flat, cannot actually be seen in this picture. That also makes it the only cut of the four with no shoes in view, and there is no floor shadow under the knees.
