A closer look
No knitted brow, no tears, no hand: the plainest result of the four. The brows stay relaxed and the lips barely part, so turning the face aside with the eyes lowered is almost the only signal. On the face alone you cannot tell gloomy from merely calm; if you need unmistakable sadness, the drawn tears of crying face did that in this set. Side-parted bob with the forehead showing.
