A closer look
The skirt falls narrow and straight, so the cinched waist and full skirt the decade is known for did not appear. Compared with the 1920s cut, the skirt went from burgundy to black and the hair was cut to a side-parted, shoulder-length bob. With top and skirt both black, this is the darkest outfit of the four. Behind her are a white door with a brass handle and, at the right edge, a brown wooden door.
